Get ready for a blast of excitement in the world of League of Legends. The latest update from Paul “Pabro” Bellezza, Brett “Frost” Freeman, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, and Drew “justacapybara” Levin is packed with juicy details about Season 2 Act 2.
The big news is the introduction of a new ARAM map, Koeshin’s Crossing, which joins the ranks of Butcher’s Bridge and Howling Abyss. Each time you load into an ARAM game, the system will randomly select one of these three maps, keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
But that’s not all – the team is also experimenting with a new feature called Champion Cards. When you’re selecting your champion, you’ll get two cards to choose from, and the one you don’t pick will go to the bench, where another player can grab it. This twist is designed to keep ARAM games fun and unpredictable.
And if you’re craving something new, get ready to meet Yunara, the latest ADC champion. This classic attack damage carry champion is set to arrive in a few weeks, along with a separate meta game that lets you control Yunara and Xin Zhao in a 2.5D action game. The best part? You don’t need to play League of Legends to progress in this meta game.
But what about the spiritual successor to Spirit Bonds? It’s making a comeback in Act 2, allowing you to reconnect with the spirits once again. This time, you’ll need to play League of Legends to progress, but the team is working on more meta games to cater to different player preferences.
The team is also cracking down on toxic behavior, with a detection system that’s now 99.95% accurate. This means harsher penalties for players who disrupt the game, especially those at higher levels. They’re also working on a system to automatically end matches with severe toxic behavior and improving the honor system to meet player expectations.
The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is just around the corner, kicking off on June 27. For the first time, you’ll be able to participate in Pick’Ems, and the tournament will be streamed live with Thai commentary on various platforms, including:
And as a special surprise, the skins used by the winning team in the MSI finals will be discounted the following week. Plus, Viktor’s classic skin is making a comeback later this year, so stay tuned!
