Leader AC Milan suffers to draw 2-2 against bottom Salernitana

AC Milan, leader of Serie A, suffered to tie 2-2 in their visit to the bottom team, the Salernitana, this Saturday on matchday 26, where Inter Milan could regain first place on Sunday.

Inter is second by two points and on Sunday they host Sassuolo (12th) at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium. In the event of a victory for the ‘Nerazzurri’ there will be a new relay at the top of the Italian table.

Another of the candidates for the ‘Scudetto’ could also take advantage of AC Milan’s stumble, Napoli, third three points behind the leader and visiting Cagliari on Monday (18th).

La Salernitana, who saw how their captain Franck Ribery was injured in ’69, fought against all odds in this match, in the debut of Davide Nicola, their third coach of the season.

With 14 points, the Salernitana is still 7 points from the safety zone.

Milan took the lead in Salerno with a goal from Brazilian Junior Messias in the 5th minute.

La Salernitana then turned the score around with goals from Federico Bonazzoli (29) and Bosnian Milan Djuric (72).

When the locals thought they could give the big surprise, Milan avoided defeat with the final 2-2 draw, the work of Croatian Ante Rebic in minute 77, with a shot from distance.

Also this Saturday, Roma (7th), who were losing 2-0 at home at the break, were able to draw 2-2 against Hellas Verona (9th) thanks to two players under 20 who came into play in the second half.

Cristian Volpato (18 years old) managed to reduce the deficit by taking advantage of a clearance from the rival defense in a corner kick, in the 65th minute, three minutes after having jumped onto the pitch. It was his first goal in the first division, in his second game in the category.
