Laying down arms is not in my dictionary, I would like to die, Ahmad Shah Masood

Ahmed Masood, the son of legendary Afghan commander Ahmad Shah Masood, who formed a resistance force against the Taliban in Afghanistan’s Panjshir Valley, says the word “surrender” is not in his vocabulary. “I would rather die than surrender to the Taliban.”

“There can be talks with the Taliban, there are talks in wars, and my father always talked to his enemies,” Ahmed Masood, the leader of the resistance force, told AFP.

In the interview, Ahmad Shah Masood said that he could not forget the historic mistakes of the world leaders who had asked for arms eight days ago but refused but today the same weapons, weapons, helicopters and tanks have reached the Taliban.

He claimed that thousands of youth were joining the National Resistance Front in the Panjshir Valley.

Earlier, Ahmed Masood had written an article in the Washington Post in which he had asked for weapons from the United States.

Ahmed Masood’s interview comes at a time when the Taliban have taken control of Kabul and surrounded the Panjshir Valley, while talks are underway between the two sides.

Recently, the British newspaper Telegraph had revealed in its report that the head of the resistance force in the Panjshir Valley, Ahmed Masood, was preparing to lay down his arms in front of the Taliban.

The British newspaper The Telegraph claimed that a senior adviser to Ahmed Masood had told the newspaper that hundreds of Ahmed Masood’s fighters in the Panjshir Valley were fighting the Taliban due to lack of resources and international support.
