LaVuelta’s 90th Edition to Kick Off in Italy’s Piedmont Region

The 90th edition of the Cycling Tour of Spain, also known as LaVuelta, is set to be one of the most special in the event’s history. For the sixth time, the Spanish round will start abroad, with Italy’s Piedmont region playing host to the first three stages.

The President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, and the area’s sports advisor, Marina Chiarelli, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of LaVuelta. The event is expected to have a significant impact on the region, showcasing its great landscapes, mountains, meadows, and valleys.

According to Alberto Cirio, the President of the Piedmont Region, having LaVuelta’s family in the region is a great opportunity to achieve a “treble” in cycling, following the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. He also highlighted the region’s rich cycling history, mentioning Marco Pantani, a legendary Italian cyclist who won the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia.

The most important thing for us is to have LaVuelta’s family there. It is the possibility for us to achieve a ‘treble’ in cycling.
