Laurent Blanc, new coach of the Qatari club Al Rayyan

The former coach of the France team has just signed an 18-month contract with Qatari club Al Rayyan. Without a post since his departure from Paris Saint Germain in 2016, Laurent Blanc will be officially presented this Saturday at a press conference.

His name had been circulating for some time in several prestigious championships. Finally, Laurent Blanc will take the hand of the Al Rayyan club, 6th in the classification of the Championship of Qatar with 13 points after nine days.

In Qatar, Laurent Blanc will meet Spanish Xavi, coach of the Al Sadd club and organizer of the World Cup in 2022.

In just six seasons as a club coach, three for Bordeaux (2007-2010) as far as Paris-SG (2013-2016), Laurent Blanc has built an impressive track record. Four French champion titles including three in the capital.

The former French international (97 caps) won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with the Blues. He also led the French team from 2010 to 2012 with a mixed sporting history and tainted by the case of discriminatory ethnic quotas.
