Lauren Sanchez is celebrating Katy Perry’s 41st birthday with a heartfelt tribute. The 55-year-old wife of Jeff Bezos shared photos of the two via Instagram Stories on Saturday, October 25. She affectionately referred to the "Roar" singer as her “girl.”
Sanchez wrote, “Happy birthday @katyperry. I love you to space and back,” alongside a black-and-white photo. She included rocket, star, and heart emojis. A subsequent post featured three additional photos with the caption, “Did I mention it’s my girl’s birthday? Oh, how much I love you @katyperry.”
Both Instagram posts were set to Perry’s songs, "Birthday" and "California Gurls."
The birthday celebration comes as Perry’s new high-profile romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has garnered attention. The singer was seen hand-in-hand with Trudeau, 53, following a birthday date in Paris on Saturday. Images obtained by TMZ showed Perry in a stylish red dress. She accepted a rose from a fan outside a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris.
This marks a whirlwind few months for the couple. They were first spotted in July, strolling through Montreal’s Mount Royal Park. They later enjoyed a private meal at the restaurant Le Violon.
Perry and Trudeau have since had several public outings. These include an affectionate yacht trip off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, earlier in October. A source told Us Weekly on Friday, October 24, that Perry is keeping the relationship private despite growing public interest.
"Katy is very excited. She is very happy," the source revealed. "She is trying to keep everything low-key, and they have spent a lot of time together privately. She is not looking to make this relationship public."
The new romance follows Perry’s split from former fiancé Orlando Bloom. Us Weekly reported the end of their engagement, after nearly 10 years together, two days before Sanchez’s wedding to Jeff Bezos. Bloom, 48, proposed to Perry in 2019, and their daughter, Daisy, was born in August 2020.
Perry and Bloom issued a joint statement to Us on July 3. They declared their commitment to co-parenting. "Orlando and Katy have been modifying their relationship over the past few months to focus on co-parenting," the statement read. "They will continue to be seen together as family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect." Bloom was seen at Sanchez and Bezos’ wedding weekend in Venice despite the breakup news.
Sanchez and Perry’s friendship dates back to at least 2023. They traveled to Dubrovnik, Croatia, with their respective partners at the time, Bezos, 61, and Bloom. The following year, they visited Sardinia, Italy, on Bezos’ $500 million yacht.
Their bond deepened significantly after a joint space trip in April 2025. Sanchez and Perry were part of an all-female crew. This group included journalist Gayle King, former NASA rocket engineer Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn. They journeyed into space aboard Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket. Perry later traveled to Paris for Sanchez’s bachelorette party the next month.
Perry did not attend Sanchez and Bezos’ luxurious Venice wedding in June 2025. She was performing back-to-back concerts in Australia at the time.
