In 2013 the men’s World Cup even had international volunteers, but now it is not considered due to the health situation, although it is not ruled out either. That is, whoever is interested in participating from within, although a large number of them in external support to the teams, and has the possibility of having days off in December, has three centers to be interested in the project: the Spanish Federation, the Valencian and the Catalan.
“In 2013 most of the volunteers were very young, many from handball clubs,” says José Hurtado, in charge of relations with the media, and from what you see, a boy for everything because he is one of those embarked on the task of shaking up an accelerated recruitment, which was started earlier due to the insecurity of the situation.
“It’s 16 days, and normally no one commits to the entire championship, so the number of volunteers is large, although each venue is different”, says Hurtado Fernández, who explains that these types of collaborators do not have any economic compensation, “And that is why it is primarily about people who reside around the four venues, Torrevieja, Llíria, Castellón and Granollers, although there are also volunteers who have friends in those areas, and who visit them during that period.”
Without volunteers, the World Cup would shoot a very tight budget since with the pandemic it is not yet known or the capacity to be used will have the tracks of the four venues, although tickets will go on sale with thirty percent of the possible usable seats in each pavilion ..
