Lara proudly shared that she “grew up in a family of aviators.” Her grandfather, Chandra Kishore Dutta, was a pilot for British Overseas Airways Corporation, which we now know as British Airways. Her father, Wing Commander L. K. Dutta (Retired), was a true war hero. He earned gallantry awards for his brave actions in both the 1965 and 1971 wars. Not stopping there, her sister, Squadron Leader Cheryl Dutta, made history. She was among the very first women to become commissioned helicopter pilots in the Indian Air Force. Talk about a family of achievers!
Lara echoed a powerful sentiment, saying that “flying runs in the blood.” She firmly stated that being a child of the Indian Armed Forces is a key part of who she is. On this important 93rd Indian Air Force Day 2025, she extended her deep respect to all the brave air warriors. These dedicated individuals protect our skies and serve the nation with immense pride and honor.
Before she graced the silver screen, Lara Dutta Bhupathi captured the world’s attention. She won the prestigious Miss Universe title in 2000. Her journey into acting began in 2003 with the film ‘Andaaz’. Since then, she has charmed audiences in many popular movies. You might remember her from films like ‘Masti’, ‘No Entry’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, ‘Partner’, and ‘Housefull’. From beauty queen to Bollywood star, Lara’s life has been quite a ride. Yet, her recent post reminds us that some of the greatest heroes in her family soared through the skies, not on film sets.
