Tensions flared between RCD Mallorca fans and the club’s players after a 0-1 loss to Girona.
The incident happened when top club officials, including Portuguese midfielder Samuel Costa, headed to the away section after the final whistle.
Trouble Erupts
Dani RodrÃguez, Mallorca’s veteran forward, reported that some fans threatened to kill the players.
“They said they’d kill us. They don’t represent the spirit of Mallorca,” he said.
RodrÃguez was shocked by the behavior, describing the fans as “four shameless individuals.”
The reaction was unexpected given Mallorca’s recent performance.
The team has 44 points, just like Rayo Vallecano, which is currently in eighth place, the last spot that still qualifies for European competition, with four games left in LaLiga.
Supporter’s Wife Speaks Out
Dani RodrÃguez’s wife, Cristina Palavra, also criticized the fans on social media.
“Football isn’t a war. Stay home,” she said.
“If the club wants to protect its own, it should identify those four fans.”
The incident has sparked a heated debate about fan behavior and its impact on the team.
Some supporters have been defending the fans’ actions, while others have condemned the violence.
The club now faces the challenge of addressing the issue and finding a way to move forward.
