Lady Gaga made a grand entrance, fully embracing the shadowy style of Netflix’s hit show, ‘Wednesday’. She showed up looking perfectly spooky for the big event.
The pop superstar, 39, joined Jenna Ortega, the series’ lead, in New York City. This special night, a “cemetery gala,” took place at Guastavino’s on Thursday, August 28. Netflix and Spotify teamed up to host the party. It celebrated the upcoming second part of ‘Wednesday’s’ second season. New episodes are set to drop very soon.
Gaga is set to join the cast of the wildly popular Netflix drama. She will take on the role of Rosaline Rotwood. Fans will know Rosaline as a legendary professor at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday’s unusual school. Catch the new episodes, including Gaga’s debut, starting Wednesday, September 3.
Before her first appearance on the show, Gaga channeled the iconic character. She wore black, of course, Wednesday’s go-to shade. Her outfit featured an oversized jester-style hat, which had a subtle touch of green. A tight corset with shiny silver details added to the drama. She paired this with flowing chiffon balloon pants and towering platform boots.
Her makeup perfectly matched her clothes. She chose a pale base for her face. Dark lipstick and pink eyeshadow gave her a striking, eerie glow.

Jenna Ortega, 22, the series’ star, also embraced the dark theme. She wore a long gray dress. It seemed torn and faded, almost like a spider’s web. Ortega’s dark hair flowed freely. It had a wet, moody style. This look played well against her pale facial makeup. The two stars also posed for pictures with fellow cast members, Emma Myers and Joy Sunday.
That evening, Gaga also shared exciting news about her music. She announced a brand new song called “The Dead Dance.” This track is set to arrive on Wednesday, September 3. That’s the very same day the new ‘Wednesday’ episodes hit Netflix. Fans will hear “The Dead Dance” in a future episode of the popular series.
Gaga recently spoke to Netflix’s Tudum about her new project. She said she felt “excited” about the song and her role. “I’m a huge fan of the series,” she shared. She also added that she had “a blast appearing in it to accompany ‘The Dead Dance’.”
She explained the inspiration behind “The Dead Dance.” It came from a breakup. The song explores the feelings we have when a relationship ends. Gaga mentioned how losing someone can make us lose hope in finding love again. But the song also has a “great, very funky beat,” she noted. It then shifts to celebrating good times with friends after going through something difficult. “I can’t wait for people to hear it,” she finished.
Jenna Ortega also praised Gaga’s involvement. She told Tudum, “If you like ‘Wednesday,’ if you like Lady Gaga, you’ll love seeing her in the second part.” Ortega believes Gaga “really fits” the show’s world. “She’s incredible,” Ortega stated. “It’s one of those rare times when someone is clearly doing what they were born to do. Getting to watch and enjoy her is a surreal experience.”
