Since arriving in Spain in 1983, the Lactalis Group’s aim has been to offer consumers healthy, environmentally friendly and high quality products on a daily basis. But all this would not be possible without love for people, stable work and talent.
Thanks to its commitment to people and talent embedded in the company’s DNA, Lactalis has a very low employee turnover rate of just 2.18%. This group is characterized by stable employment: the average age of employees is 40 years, 93% have permanent employment contracts and have 14 years of professional experience. The Lactalis Group currently employs 2,572 people.
Diversity, equity and inclusion
At Grupo Lactalis they work very hard to ensure equal opportunities and treatment for all people in the company, regardless of gender, race or ethnicity, age or creed. Not only during the hiring process, but also when building your own career plan. It should be added that the Lactalis group in Spain includes people of more than 20 different nationalities and up to 5 different generations.
In addition, the company continues to strive for gender equality, as the role of women is very important. More than 50% of the employees in the group’s offices are women and it is worth noting that they are also managers of two of the group’s factories: Rosa MartĆn Da Silva, director of the Lactalis Forlasa factory in Zamora, and Isabel Ćlvarez, director of factory managers Lactalis Forlasa in Zamora, Lactalis Puleva in Nadela (Lugo).
Revival of emptied Spain
Lactalis offers its employees, especially in rural areas, stable and quality work, promoting the continuity of productive activities in the interior of Spain and preserving local roots by adhering to the traditions and know-how of each region.
The municipalities of PeƱafiel, Vilalba, Mollerusa, Villarobledo, Marchamalo and Nadela are home to six of the eight milk, cheese, yogurt and dairy dessert factories that Grupo Lactalis operates in Spain in towns with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants. 55% of the company’s employees in our country work in them, i.e. 1,415 out of 2,572 employees. In this way, Grupo Lactalis becomes the main employer in these increasingly depopulated areas.
91,242 working days spent on training
In addition, training is another basic principle that binds the group and its employees together. In 2023, with a company investment of 1,081,810 euros, 91,242 hours were spent on training, which corresponds to 11,405 working days. What should be highlighted is the ability of Lactalis Group employees to further develop their professional careers in a stable and attractive environment. With this in mind, all Grupo Lactalis job vacancies are initially advertised internally so that all interested employees can apply at preferential conditions.
An example of this is that 29% of open positions in 2022 were filled internally.
