Kvaratskhelia overshadows Odegaard

Georgia will start in a few games as favorites during this qualifying phase, but having a player of the level of Kvaratskhelia in the team they will allow themselves to believe against anyone. Against Norway, which I didn’t have Haaland but I did have Odegaard, Sorloth or Aursnesthey managed to draw a draw that impressed everyone with their ability to resist the Norwegian attacks without collapsing.

First Solbakken tried from the outside and Mamardashvili took it out. It would be the first of many others for the Valencia goalkeeper. Although when Sorloth made a hole in the front and shot low, he could hardly do anything. The game was going uphill for Georgia and Norway kept attacking. Odegaard crossed it from afar and went wide. Then Elyounoussi missed a very clear chance that Mamardashvili saved.

Then, Kvaratskhelia began to appear. Every time she had a little hole, no matter how far or in the way she was, she tried the shot. In one of them, very dangerous and on the verge of rest, he encouraged the masses and asked for more support. A turning point. The second half began and Georgia was still a monologue from the left winger of Napoli, but the goal did not come like that. A long ball found Mikautadze, who headed it even longer and beat Nyland inside the box. Neither Strandberg nor any other teammate could catch up with him in the race. Georgia was encouraged and Lobjanidze, recently entered, had another very clear one that he missed.

From here, every time Kvaratskhelia received, it felt like the goal could come. In one of them he crossed towards Mikautadze to make his double, but missed the volley at the far post. The diagonals of the Georgian 7 were more and more dangerous, but it was very difficult being alone against the world. Half the time his teammates didn’t support him and the other half, when they did, they were capable of hitting the wall wrong or not understanding his movement.

Odegaard, until then Norway’s master of ceremonies on the constant occasions that Sorloth had, had his. The Real Sociedad striker failed to finish off and, then, the Arsenal striker arrived. With an easy shot, practically to an empty goal, he threw it very high. It was hard to believe that he had missed and Georgia avoided defeat.
