Kuwait: Government issues strict guidelines for motorcyclists

Kuwait: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department has banned delivery motorcyclists from riding bikes on highways and main roads since October 3.

According to the details, the head of Kuwait Federation for Home Delivery Services Companies, Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Twaijri, has said that the General Traffic Department will stop home delivery service motorcycles from driving on ring roads and highways from October 3.

He also lauded the decision taken by the General Traffic Department and said that it was a good decision for the best interests and safety of drivers and road users.

Al-Twaijri said in a statement to the media that Assistant Under-Secretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs, Maj. Gen. Jamal Al-Sayegh, had informed the federation that the General Traffic Department would determine the areas and main roads where the delivery motorcyclists Can order

He also lauded Al-Sayegh’s decision in the interest of the country, citizens and delivery companies, saying that home delivery motorbikes could not run on designated highways.

Al-Twaijri explained that the General Traffic Department has also defined areas and areas specified for motorists at intersections. He pointed out that the General Traffic Department has warned motorcyclists to follow the instructions.

He added that the delivery box on the back of the motorcycle should have a safety band (reflective light strip) that illuminates in the dark, the rider must wear a helmet and a motorcycle driving license.
