As the release date of a Bollywood film approaches, the pressure on actors to promote it intensifies. The promotional work is demanding and requires a significant amount of time and effort. Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently shared her experiences and the challenges she faces while promoting her films.
The Struggle is Real
Kriti Sanon appeared in a podcast where she revealed the difficulties she encounters during film promotions. She shared a personal anecdote about the tough time she had while promoting her film ‘Bhediya’. Kriti traveled from city to city, visiting reality shows and colleges, and even booked a charter plane to manage her schedule. She would sleep at night and wake up the next day in a new city, ready to face another day of promotions.
Kriti expressed her frustration about the repetitive questions she was asked during interviews. She jokingly said, “I wish I could carry a tape recorder with me and say press one for the first question, press two for the second.”
Physical and Emotional Exhaustion
Kriti recalled a particularly challenging moment when she was exhausted and broke down in tears. She was getting ready for a reality show and felt overwhelmed, saying, “I’m very tired, and I don’t want to do this. I don’t have much strength left in me.”
Compulsory Tasks
Kriti also talked about the tasks she dislikes but has to do due to obligations. One such task is photoshoots, which she finds tedious. She mentioned that she has to do photoshoots for designers, and if she doesn’t, she has to buy the dress. Kriti once refused to do a photoshoot and ended up spending a huge amount of money to buy the dress instead.
A Desire for Change
Kriti expressed her desire for a change in the way things are done in the industry. She reminisced about the old days when award shows were simpler, and actresses could dress casually. Kriti wishes that the focus could shift from these tasks to the actual craft of acting.
