Kristin Cabot’s Husband Andrew Addresses Divorce After Viral Kiss Cam Scandal

The lights were low, the music was loud, and the crowd at the Coldplay concert in Foxboro, Massachusetts, was buzzing. Then, the stadium’s "Kiss Cam" found its next targets: Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron. What followed was a moment of awkwardness that quickly went viral. The camera caught them on the jumbotron, embracing. But when they realized they were on screen, Kristin turned away, covering her face, while Andy quickly ducked to hide.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, never one to miss a beat, playfully teased the pair. "Wow, look at these two! All right, come on. Everything’s good," the 48-year-old singer joked from the stage. He pondered, "They’re either having an affair or they’re just super shy. I’m not sure what to do." Martin then added, perhaps a little worried, "I hope we didn’t do something wrong."

Little did anyone know, that embarrassing Kiss Cam moment on July 16 was just the tip of the iceberg. It soon became clear there was more to the story than just two shy concert-goers. News outlets started digging, and the details began to spill out. Kristin was the Chief People Officer at a tech company called Astronomer, and Andy Byron was its CEO. They had been colleagues since November 2024.

The online buzz around the video quickly led to real-world consequences. Andy Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly removed his last name from her Facebook profile. Soon after, Andy Byron himself resigned from his top role at Astronomer. On July 19, a company spokesperson released a statement to news outlets. It said, "Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and lately, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has submitted his resignation and the Board of Directors has accepted it." Just days later, on July 24, reports confirmed that Kristin Cabot had also left her position at Astronomer. A spokesperson for the company stated, "Kristin Cabot no longer works at Astronomer. She has resigned."

Now, a new layer of the story has emerged. Andrew Cabot, Kristin’s estranged husband, has finally addressed their divorce. A spokesperson for Andrew spoke to People magazine on Monday, September 8. They clarified that Kristin and Andrew "had privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert." This means their split was already happening before that infamous stadium appearance.

The spokesperson further explained that the "decision to divorce was already in motion before that night." Kristin officially filed for divorce in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13. Court documents revealing this were later obtained by The Daily Mail on September 6. Andrew hopes that with the divorce filing now public, it will "respectfully close speculation" and give his family the privacy they cherish.

Andrew Cabot is the CEO of Privateer Rum, a distillery based in New England. He has two children from a previous marriage. Kristin and Andrew do not have any children together. Kristin was also married before to Kenneth Thornby, and they divorced in 2022. Reports indicate they share a child.

It’s quite a turn of events from what seemed like a simple, funny concert moment. It’s worth remembering that when Andy Byron first welcomed Kristin to Astronomer last November, he praised her "exceptional leadership" and "deep experience" in managing people. Kristin, for her part, had said she felt "energized" by her discussions with Andy and the company’s leadership. What began with a chuckle quickly became a complex tale of relationships, careers, and public scrutiny.
