The squad for the Asian Cup 2023 has been announced by Afghanistan. Fast bowler Naveel Ul was not included in the 17-man Afghan team. Naveen-ul-Haq, who played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, was spotted fighting RCB’s Virat Kohli in the recent 16th season.

On the other hand, Afghanistan will play their first match on September 3 against Bangladesh in Lahore, Pakistan. The matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Out of the total of 13 matches, 4 matches will be played in Pakistan and 9 matches including the rest of the finals will be played in Sri Lanka. The Indian team will play all matches exclusively in Sri Lanka.
