In IPL 2023, the match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants on May 1. In this match played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, RCB won by 18 runs. After this match, there was a dispute between Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir on the pitch. At the same time, Lucknow player Naveen-ul-Haq also faced Virat Kohli during the match. Now Gautam Gambhir has broken his silence on all the controversies.
Gautam Gambhir revealed all these things in an interview with ‘Noticias18’. Regarding the on-pitch debate, Gambhir said, “I had a fight on the pitch earlier too, but I always keep those fights and arguments confined to the pitch. There was an argument between two people and he should stay on the field and not cross the boundary. Many people said many things to TRP and many were called in for interviews.
Gambhir further said: “There is no need to explain what happens between two people. It happened on the cricket field, not off the field. If it was somewhere off the field, then you would call it a fight. In the heat of the moment, two guys who want to win for their team and deserve to win.”
Gautam Gambhir also revealed why he supported Naveen-ul-Haq in the fight between Kohli and Naveen. Gambhir said: “I would just say that I will stand by what I did for a person who was right in that case. I felt that Naveen hasn’t done anything wrong, so it’s my duty to support him. I’ll keep doing this until my last breath, whether it’s for Naveen or someone else.”
Gambhir said: “If I think you are right, I will support you. This is what they have taught me and I will continue to do so. This is how I am living my life. A lot of people said a lot about me rooting for Naveen and not my player. It was not that this player is ours and that player is not. If the player on my team is wrong, then I won’t side with him.
