Winner of the first immunity test from the start of “Koh-Lanta: the Legend” last Tuesday, Claude Dartois spoke about the most painful episode of his childhood: the death of his mother.
In an interview with the magazine Public, the adventurer spoke of the death of his mother when he was only 9 years old. A traumatic moment that forced him to learn to cope at a very young age, and to learn from his mistakes. “My older sister went to live with my aunt, and I stayed with my father who worked a lot. I had no accountability: when I didn’t come home one evening, he didn’t call the police! If my mom hadn’t died, I would have been more protected. I took risks, decisions by myself: it made me grow. A little too quickly sometimes … but I have a lucky star, ”says Claude Dartois.
A fight against himself
This adaptability and his ability to overcome adversity helped Claude to shine in Koh-Lanta at each of his participations. For him, competition is more a personal approach than a way of competing against others. “I’m leaving with a view to giving the maximum and to take pleasure in surpassing myself, in fighting. In the game, I compete with myself, more than with others, ”he explains.
If he were to win this All-stars edition of the TF1 adventure game, Claude Dartois already knows what he would do with the money: reinvest it in the comfort of his family. “I will offer more comfort to my family: a house with a garden for my sons, rather than an apartment without a balcony, in which they share a room”, specifies Andréa and Marceau’s father.
