Koepka leads in Jeddah

The American Brooks Koepka, who signed 62 (8 under par), leads the Invitational Jeddadh (Saudi Arabia), of the Circuit LIV Golf, with a two stroke advantage over South African Charl Schwatzel, at the end of the first day. On the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, penultimate test of the new LIV Golf, the Mexicans Carlos Ortiz and Abraham Ancer and Sergio García were also seen; the first with a card with 66 hits (-4), the remaining two with paths of 67 (-3).

Koepka, winner of four majors and who became number one in the world ranking in October 2018, did not make any mistakes and signed eight birdies and is two strokes ahead of Schwartzel and three over a trio made up of Americans Patrick Reed and Peter Uihlein, the Japanese Hideto Tanihara. Sergio García signed four birdies and a ‘bogey, and Eugenio López-Chacarra, winner of the previous test held in Bangkok, delivered a card with 69 strokes (-1), with an eagle, three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. He is twenty-eighth.
