Klitschko’s harsh attack on the IOC: “Bach serves the interests of Russia”

Former Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko believes that the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, serves “the interests” Russians in relation to their body’s proposal to readmit, under certain criteria, athletes from Russia and Belarus in international sports competitions.

In a tweet posted Tuesday night, the former world heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist in Atlanta’96, described the IOC’s decision as a “false flag”. “Thomas Bach serves the colors and interests of Russia. This decision contaminates the Olympic spirit And it’s like this war: nonsense,” he asserted.

The IOC proposed on Tuesday to readmit as neutral and under strict conditions athletes from Russia and Belarus, banned from most sporting events since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The proposal excludes team sports and a decision has not yet been made on their participation in next year’s Paris Olympics.
