KL Rahul loses in ICC T20 ranking, Kohli is in this place

India’s star batsman KL Rahul dropped to sixth place on the hitters list in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 Ranking released on Wednesday, while Virat Kohli remained in eighth place as before.

Rahul, who has scored half a century in India’s last three matches in the T20 World Cup, has 727 points and has slipped one spot. Rahul, who was named vice captain of the Indian T20 team, scored 69, 50 and 54 not out against Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia respectively. India was eliminated from the Super 12 stage of the tournament itself.

Kohli, who resigned as T20 captain after this tournament, remains in eighth place with 698 points. Only Rahul and Kohli from India are in the top 10 in the T20 rankings. Among other players, Australians Mitchell Marsh and David Warner have also made significant qualifying improvements after playing a key role in helping their team win the first-ever T20 World Cup.

Marsh, who scored an undefeated 77 in the final against New Zealand, moved up six places to 13th, while Warner, who was awarded the player of the tournament, moved up eight places to 33rd. The New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson, who scored 85 runs in the final, climbed seven places to 32, while Devon Conway climbed three places to fourth.

Among bowlers, Australian player Adam Zampa has moved up two spots to third, while pacemaker Josh Hazlewood has moved up two spots to sixth. New Zealand fast pitcher Trent Boult has jumped seven places to reach 14th. England off-roader Liam Livingstone has climbed seven spots to third on the off-roader list.
