KL Rahul Hits Century on Day One, India Scores 319/7 Against England Lions

India’s cricket team is making waves in England. On the first day of their match against England Lions, India A ended with 319 runs for 7 wickets. KL Rahul stole the show with a fantastic century to kick off the England tour. He scored 116 runs off 168 balls, hitting 15 fours and a six.

Rahul teamed up with Karun Nair for 87 runs and then with wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel for 121 runs. These partnerships helped the team recover from a shaky start. England’s fast bowler Chris Woakes took three wickets, while George Hill and Farhan Ahmed got two and one, respectively.

Rahul, who has already scored two centuries in England, is now one of the most senior members of India’s Test team. With Rohit Sharma retiring from Test cricket, Rahul has stepped up his game. His century on the first day has set the tone for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, starting June 20. Rahul began his innings with a defensive approach, reaching his half-century off 102 balls. Then, he accelerated his scoring, reaching his century off the next 49 balls.

With a Test average of 33.57 from 58 matches, Rahul has mostly found success as a top-order batsman. His performance in England will be crucial for India’s chances in the series.
