Nitish Rana, Indian star batsman and captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 IPL, made a big decision on Saturday night. Nitish has announced that he will now leave his home side Delhi and play for Uttar Pradesh. Nitish will play for a new team in the 2023/24 domestic cricket season.
Will be seen with Rinku
He will be joined in this team by his IPL teammate Rinku Singh. He will now also play in the first season of the UPT20 league where he will play for the Noida Super Kings. Rana wrote on social media that I am grateful for the opportunities, guidance and support DDCA has offered me over the years. As I scale new heights, I will always remember my journey as Delhi Cricket captain. I would like to express my appreciation for Rohan Jaitley’s support and cooperation during my tenure at DDCA. However, I feel that now is the time to start a new chapter in my career. I have come to this decision after much deliberation and I am pleased to announce that I will be moving to UPCA starting with the upcoming national season.
“I’m excited to play for UPCA and look forward to working with everyone to reach new heights,” said Rana. Rana had applied for NOC of Delhi and DDCA. At this point it has been confirmed that his long-time Delhi teammate Dhruv Shorey is joining two-time Ranji Trophy-winning team Vidarbha. After playing an ODI and two T20Is for India, Rana was a regular in the Delhi national team and even served as captain. However, he struggled with poor form last season and was subsequently eliminated from the Ranji Trophy team.
