Kevin Zenón, the pearl of Boca who is in the sights of the Premier League

Newcastle United’s interest in Argentine midfielder Kevin Zenón has been confirmed, according to a report from Argentine broadcaster Olé. The Magpies have their sights set on the 22-year-old and are looking to bolster their squad with versatile players ahead of the upcoming transfer window. They are ready to activate his €15 million release clause to secure his signing in the summer market.

Zenón, originally from Goya, trained in CA Union’s youth department before excelling at Boca Juniors, where he demonstrated his ability to play in various positions on the left side of the field. Despite only joining the club last month, the Argentine has had a good start to the 2024 season, contributing with a goal and an assist in his appearances.

Newcastle United are keeping an eye on Kevin Zenón

Although Zenón is not yet an undisputed starter at Boca Juniors, his performance has caught the attention of several European clubs, including Newcastle United, who are looking to strengthen their squad with a versatile player at left-back. Given the potential departure of Miguel Almirón at the end of the season and the need to rejuvenate the defense, the Magpies believe Zenón is a realistic target.

The €15 million termination clause in Zenón’s contract with Boca Juniors makes him accessible to Newcastle United, who will not hesitate to pay that amount to secure his signing in the next summer market. It will be interesting to see if the Argentine finally makes the jump to the Premier League before the start of the 2024/25 season.
