Kevin Spacey owes $ 31 million to House of Cards producer

Kevin Spacey was fired from House of Cards in 2017, after several men brought allegations of sexual abuse against him. The accusations date back to 1983 and, in total, more than 30 people have claimed to have been victims of the actor, including several minors at the time of the events. Now it has been revealed that the interpreter, whose departure forced the series to end earlier than planned, owes $ 31 million to the producer for breach of contract.

Spacey’s firing forced them to rewrite season six and instead of focusing on President Frank Underwood (Spacey), the season would again focus on his wife Claire (Robin Wright) and Frank would die under mysterious circumstances. House of Cards season 6 wasn’t originally the last, but the producers decided to close the story after Spacey’s firing.

According to Deadline, Spacey has been claimed to pay nearly $ 31 million to MRC, the House of Cards production company, for breaching his contract. This sum includes $ 29.5 million in damages, $ 1.2 million in attorneys’ fees, and $ 235,000 in additional costs. An arbitration determined that Spacey had breached the terms of his contract after interviewing outside witnesses and determining that the allegations of sexual abuse against the actor were true. Therefore, his behavior constituted a breach of his acting and executive producing agreements for the series.

Since his dismissal from House of Cards, Spacey has kept a low profile, but it has been confirmed that he will soon return to the big screen with two films: The Man Who Drew God and Peter Five Eight.
