It turns out being a global pop star doesn’t make you immune to the latest kid crazes. Just ask Kevin Jonas, who recently spilled the beans on life as a dad navigating the world of popular toys.
The 37-year-old singer shared some fun stories on the “Mythical Kitchen” podcast on Thursday, July 31. He admitted he’s now deep into the “Labubu toy phase” because of his two daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 9. Kevin shares his girls with his wife, Danielle Jonas.
Kevin was quick to point out that he hasn’t spent a dime on these trendy dolls himself. However, one of his daughters, whose name he kept to himself, has been quite busy with her own money.
“I haven’t spent a single dollar on Labubus,” Kevin said. “My daughter has, though.” He explained that she saves her own money for them. “She buys these things on StockX with her debit card,” he added. “And she’s in there, negotiating, making offers.” He recalled a specific conversation: “She’ll tell me, ‘Dad, it’s not really $75, but with shipping, it comes to $85. What do you think I should do?’ I told her not to buy it.”
Kevin chuckled as he explained that his daughter usually agrees to wait. But then, she “appears” later, having changed her mind and bought it anyway. It seems some money lessons are learned the hard way!
Parenting Confessions from a Jonas Dad
Earlier in the podcast chat, Kevin also shared another amusing dad moment. He revealed that his daughters discovered Marshmallow Fluff. They loved it so much that he eventually had to tell them it was no longer sold. It was a little white lie to manage their sweet tooth. Kevin openly admitted he has no problem bending the truth with his kids, joking that he “lies all the time.”

Kevin wasn’t alone on the podcast. His brothers, Nick Jonas, 32, and Joe Jonas, 35, also joined in. Both are fathers themselves, offering their own insights into family life.
Nick and his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, are parents to 3-year-old Malti Marie. Joe shares custody of his two daughters, Willa, born in 2020, and Delphine, born in 2022, with his ex-wife Sophie Turner.
Nick confessed that becoming a dad truly changed his outlook on life and his music career. “I think having children made me much more focused on building something they would truly be proud of,” he explained. This applies to both his creative work and his personal life. “You face the reality that this small human being will depend on you,” he continued, “at least until they’re 18, hopefully. For the rest of their lives.”
The “Chains” singer added that this responsibility is a huge deal. Before having Malti Marie, he only focused on career achievements. “Now I have something more real to look at and make decisions about,” he shared. It’s clear that for the Jonas brothers, family life has brought new meaning and purpose to their celebrity worlds.
