Bethesda and Microsoft dropped a surprise on gamers last night with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, complete with Shadow Drop. The game is now available on PC, Xbox Series, and PS5, and is also part of Game Pass. This unexpected release has sent Oblivion Remastered soaring on Steam, with concurrent players topping 180,000.
The sudden hype surrounding Oblivion Remastered has somewhat overshadowed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is set to launch soon. In response, Kepler Interactive, the game’s distributor, poked fun at the situation on Twitter. They posted a photoshopped image showing Expedition 33 members heading towards an Oblivion Gate, jokingly calling it “barbenheimer.”
A Lighthearted Response
Kepler Interactive’s tweet suggests they aren’t too bothered about Oblivion Remastered stealing the spotlight. The post garnered attention, with some players starting to rally around Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. They encouraged fellow gamers not to let the hype around Oblivion Remastered overshadow the upcoming game from Sandfall Interactive.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is scheduled to hit PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on April 24. Whether it can regain its momentum remains to be seen.
