A year ago, Julen Lobete signed a deal with Celta but never got the chance to train with the team. For almost 24 months, he worked on loan with clubs in the Netherlands and Andorra before finally training with Celta.

Lobete spent his first two seasons on loan at Waalwijk in the Netherlands and Andorra. In the latter, he played an impressive 41 matches in the Second Division, accumulating 2,719 minutes and scoring 4 goals.

New Era at Celta

Today, Lobete is working under the guidance of Claudio Giráldez at Celta’s Sports City, experiencing a sense of normality he hadn’t known due to the unconventional start to his spell with the team.

Transfer Possibility Looms Large

As his contract with the Vigo team has two years remaining, it’s uncertain what the future holds. Celta has declared Lobete transferable due to the need to scale back their squad, leaving the forward contemplating his next move.

Previously, Lobete played for Real Sociedad in the First Division, making 13 appearances and scoring 2 goals at just 20 years of age. This seasoned player will now be looked upon to prove himself with his Spanish club.
