Kazakhstan gives the chime

A very happy Denmark was in store as sensation Rasmus Højlund capped off his fantastic week by scoring a brace. His fifth goal in four days, after scoring a hat-trick to Finland. The Danes considered the game over when they won by two goals in the 73rd minute, but in football anything can happen. Denmark relaxed and Kazakhstan turned the score around and got a victory of merit. Kazakhstan is the 115th team in the FIFA ranking. In the last qualifying phase for the World Cup in Qatar, they were unable to win in any match, they even beat France 8-0. Now they manage to beat one of the semifinalists of the last Euro Cup.

The local reaction was slow to occur. It wasn’t until minute 73 when Zaynutdinov, from a penalty, tightened the score. But the total madness in Astana broke out between the 86th and 89th minute.. Tagybergen (Ordabasy) made it equal after scoring a great goal that slipped through Schemeichel’s net. Somewhat deserving of collecting televisions from around the world. The Kazakhstan effect did not stop there. Three minutes later, with the Danes in shock at being allowed to draw, Aymbetov headed for a ball in the area to put the final madness in the Astana Arena. In soccer there is no small rival.

Russia defeats Iraq

The Russian soccer team defeated Iraq (2-0) today in their first home game since the start of the Russian military campaign in Ukraine. The team led by Valeri Karpin had not played on Russian territory since they crushed Cyprus in November 2021 in the qualifying phase of the World Cup in Qatar (6-0), which they ultimately did not play as they were excluded by FIFA. The Russians, who received their rival on Sunday at the spectacular Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg, they were unable to subdue the modest Iraqi team in the first part, in which the Arabs were even better. The two goals came after the break. First, Antón Miranchuk took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper and then Piniaev he scored the second on personal play. EFE
