The much-anticipated clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals was washed out due to rain on Monday, leaving fans disappointed.
SRH’s Bowling Dominance
Despite the match being called off, SRH’s bowlers made a strong statement, restricting DC to a modest total. Delhi’s batting lineup struggled, with top-order batsmen failing to make an impact.
- Karun Nair was dismissed for a duck.
- Faf du Plessis managed just 3 runs.
- KL Rahul scored 10 runs.
- Axar Patel was out for 6 runs.
At one point, DC were reeling at 62/6, with Vipraj Nigam’s 18 runs being the highlight until he was run out by Aniket Verma.
The atmosphere at the stadium was electric, with SRH owner Kavya Maran celebrating Nigam’s dismissal in style.

However, Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma batted well, scoring 41 runs each and helping DC reach a respectable total of 133.
SRH’s Struggles Continue
The points were shared between the two teams, with SRH failing to start their innings due to the rain. This result has dealt a significant blow to SRH’s playoff hopes.
The team has won just 3 out of their 11 matches so far this season, losing 7. SRH’s struggles are not new, having been eliminated in the league stage for the sixth time since their IPL debut in 2013.
In recent years, the team has shown promise, reaching the playoffs in 2019 and 2020, and finishing as runners-up in 2024 under Pat Cummins’ captaincy. However, their inability to build on this momentum has been disappointing.
