Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau made a notable public appearance in Paris, confirming their romance. The couple was seen holding hands following a date to celebrate Perry’s 41st birthday on Saturday, October 25.
Images published on X by TMZ showed Perry in an elegant red dress outside Crazy Horse Paris. She received a rose from a fan as onlookers sang "Happy Birthday."
Trudeau, 53, held the "Dark Horse" singer’s hand. The smiling pair briefly waved to photographers and fans before departing in a waiting car.
This outing marks a significant public moment for the duo, who have reportedly been trying to keep their relationship private. Us Weekly learned on Friday, October 24, that both Perry and Trudeau are navigating growing public interest.
A source told Us that Perry is "very excited" and "very happy." The singer is actively trying to maintain a low profile and has spent much private time with Trudeau.
The source added that Perry does not want to make the relationship public yet. While her friends believe they are a good match, Trudeau has not met many of them.
Their romance has developed over recent months. They were first spotted in July, walking through Mount Royal Park in Montreal. Hours later, they enjoyed a private meal at Le Violon restaurant.
Subsequent sightings included an affectionate trip on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, in early October. The Paris date occurred between Perry’s European Lifetimes tour concerts.
Perry performed at the Accor Arena in Paris on Friday. She is scheduled to perform again at the MVM Dome in Budapest, Hungary, on Monday, October 27. The European leg of her tour concludes on November 11 in Madrid, Spain.
This new relationship follows the end of Perry’s engagement to Orlando Bloom, reported by Us in June after 10 years together. Perry and Bloom share a 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Bloom also has a 14-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
In a joint statement to Us on July 3, their representatives confirmed that Perry and Bloom were "redefining their relationship" to focus on co-parenting. They emphasized that their priority is, and always will be, raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.
Bloom, 48, spoke about Perry in September on NBC’s Today show. He expressed gratitude for sharing "the most beautiful daughter" with Perry, adding, "We are good and we’re going to be good. It’s pure love."
He even humorously responded to a satirical The Onion article suggesting he might date former German Chancellor Angela Merkel in retaliation. Bloom commented "👏👏👏" on the post.
Trudeau and his ex-wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, announced their legal separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They share three children: Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11. A spokesperson for the former couple stated they "remain a close family" and that both parents would be constantly present in their children’s lives.
