Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri wants to do Mahabharata, saying, “I want to do the character…”

The famous film director of The Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri is soon to release his upcoming movie The Vaccine War. Before that, he made another big announcement. Vivek Agnihotri has said that he is now considering making a film about the Mahabharata.

Recently, Vivek Agnihotri’s documentary series The Kashmir Files Unreported was released on the OTT platform G5. After that, the director has now stated that he wants to make a film based on the Indian epic Mahabharata and he is considering it very seriously.


In an interview with Times Now, Vivek Agnihotri said that he has spent his entire life reading, researching, analyzing and incorporating his life into his speeches. He said that if he had to make films about mythology now, he would make them like history.

Vivek said, “Other people do everything for the box office, but I will do it for the people, other people made Arjun, Bheem and others exaggerate.” For me, however, Mahabharata is a battle between dharma and adharma.


Speaking of Vivek Agnihotri’s next film, The Vaccine War: A True Story, which hits theaters on September 28th this year. Agnihotri himself announced this on the occasion of Independence Day. Sharing some glimpses of the film on Instagram, he wrote in the caption, “Date Announcement: Dear Friends, Your film The Vaccine War: A True Story will be released worldwide on the auspicious day of September 28, 2023.” Please bless us.
