Meanwhile, Maharashtra booked their spot in the semi-finals with a convincing 70-run win over Punjab.
Karnataka’s Bowlers Shine in 5-Run Victory
In the quarter-final match between Karnataka and Baroda, Karnataka batted first, scoring 281 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Devdutt Padikal’s excellent 102-run innings was the highlight of their batting performance, with Anish KV contributing 52 runs. Chasing a target of 282 runs, Baroda’s opening batsman Shashwat Rawat played a brilliant 104-run innings, but the team lost wickets at regular intervals, ultimately scoring 276 runs in 49.5 overs and falling short by 5 runs. Karnataka’s bowlers, including Washuki Kaushik, Prasidh Krishna, Abhilash Shetty, and Shreyas Gopal, took 2 wickets each.
Mukesh Chaudhary Stars in Maharashtra’s Win
Maharashtra, led by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, batted first in their quarter-final match against Punjab, scoring 275 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. Arshin Kulkarni’s 107-run innings was the standout performance, with Ankit Bawne and Nikhil Naik contributing 60 and 52 runs, respectively. Punjab’s chase of 276 runs was derailed when they lost half their team for 79 runs. The entire team was eventually bowled out for 205 runs in 44.4 overs. Maharashtra’s Mukesh Chaudhary took 3 wickets, while Pradeep Dade claimed 2 wickets.
