Karisma Kapoor’s Children Dispute Father’s $3.6 Billion Will, Allege Forgery

A high-profile legal battle is unfolding over the estate of late businessman Sunjay Kapur. His children with actress Karisma Kapoor have stepped forward to challenge what they call a suspicious will. They made their case before the Delhi High Court earlier this week.

Samaira and Kiaan Raj, Karisma Kapoor’s children, are not convinced the document is real. Their lawyer told Justice Jyoti Singh on Monday, October 13th, that the will is full of errors. These mistakes suggest Sunjay Kapur might not have written it himself. The children’s team, speaking to news agency PTI, strongly believes the will isn’t genuine.

A Fortune at Stake

This dispute involves a substantial fortune, reportedly worth 30,000 crore rupees. Mahesh Jethmalani, the lawyer representing Samaira and Kiaan, argued that the alleged will contains odd inconsistencies. These inconsistencies, he claims, are simply out of character for Sunjay Kapur.

Unusual Errors Raise Questions

The lawyer highlighted specific blunders within the document. For instance, it lists an incorrect address for Samaira, Sunjay Kapur’s daughter. Even more striking, his son Kiaan’s name appears misspelled multiple times throughout the will.

“The late Sunjay Kapur had a strong and loving bond with his children,” the lawyer stated in court. “How could he possibly make such basic errors, like getting his daughter’s address wrong or repeatedly misspelling his son’s name?” He went on to say that these mistakes are disrespectful to Sunjay Kapur’s memory.

The lawyer painted a picture of extreme carelessness. He declared that the will contains “major mistakes” and suggested that Sunjay Kapur neither drafted, read, nor created it. He also pointed out a lack of proof that anyone other than the children’s stepmother, Priya Kapur, or others involved, had prepared the document. “If this will is indeed forged,” the lawyer concluded, “then only one person could be behind it.” The court is expected to hear more arguments as the case continues.
