The athlete Karel Ramírez won third place in the Central American and Caribbean Youth Triathlon Championship, held at the Vista Cana location, in the tourist area of Punta Cana.
Ramírez also obtained the place for the Junior World Championship that will be held in June in Hamburg, Germany.
The gold medal corresponded to Ximena de la Peña and the silver was obtained by María López, both athletes representing Mexico.
The young Dominican, 18 years old, is the current national youth champion, and has also been Central American and Caribbean Youth Champion. Ramírez is trained by Lic. Alfonso González Comendador.
Ramírez’s activities are endorsed by the Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri), chaired by Mr. Franklin de la Cruz.
