Kareena Kapoor Khan Gained 20kg During Pregnancy

Imagine being a Bollywood star, with cameras snapping your every move, and still managing to prioritize family time – that’s Kareena Kapoor Khan for you. She’s known for speaking her mind and has always been open about her life, including the challenges she faced during pregnancy.

Like many expectant mothers, Kareena had to deal with weight gain. She put on about 20 kilos during her pregnancy. In an interview with Rediff in 2019, she shared that she tends to be a hypochondriac, which meant she had a lot of questions for her doctor. “I would ask my doctor 100 questions,” she said, “until they’d tell me, ‘Listen, there’s nothing to ask, just rest.'”

Kareena’s sister, Karishma Kapoor, was just a phone call away, offering guidance and support throughout her pregnancy journey. Kareena recalled, “It was my first pregnancy, and my sister was just a phone call away, guiding me through it.”

When it comes to weight gain during pregnancy, it’s a common concern for many women. Kareena’s doctor would often weigh her, advising her to eat less because her weight had increased by 20 kilos. The doctor’s concern was that excessive weight gain could lead to acidity, and it was essential to eat right. Kareena tried to follow the advice for six months, but things got tough after that. Despite the challenges, she looked back on her pregnancy as a positive experience, saying, “I enjoyed my pregnancy.”

For Kareena, becoming a mother has been a significant part of her life. She married Saif Ali Khan in 2012, and they have two children, Taimur and Jeh, born in 2016 and 2021, respectively. Throughout her pregnancies, Kareena continued to work and stayed in the public eye, inspiring many with her dedication to both her family and career.
