Kannada cinema superstar Rishab Shetty is set to appear as a special guest on the popular quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati 17” (KBC 17), hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Makers of the show have released promotional videos featuring the “Kantara Chapter 1” star, currently enjoying significant box office success.
One of the promos shows Shetty making a unique request to Bachchan. He expressed his desire to hear Bachchan recite a dialogue from his iconic film, “Agneepath.”
Amitabh Bachchan obliged, delivering a playful adaptation of his character Vijay Dinanath Chauhan’s famous lines. He told Shetty, “Rishab Shetty Sir, the eleventh question is on your screen. Fifty thousand rupees ($602 USD) out of seven lakh fifty thousand rupees ($9,036 USD) are yours, seven lakh ($8,434 USD) are ours!” This unexpected rendition drew applause from the studio audience.
A separate promotional video features Bachchan inviting Shetty onto the stage. Shetty, who arrived dressed in a traditional lungi, also presented a lungi as a gift to the veteran host.
Bachchan graciously accepted the gift, promising to wear it. He added a lighthearted remark: “If this shifts even a little, it becomes an international matter,” eliciting laughter.

Shetty’s appearance on KBC comes amid the continued success of his film, “Kantara Chapter 1.” This prequel to the 2022 blockbuster “Kantara” showcases the Bhoota Kola tradition, captivating audiences with powerful visuals, an evocative background score, and a story rooted in local folk culture.
The film has garnered widespread praise on social media, with many highlighting Shetty’s trident-wielding character as a particularly impactful element. Its box office performance remains strong.
“Kantara Chapter 1” accumulated an estimated $1.62 million USD on its 12th day of release. The film’s total collection currently stands at approximately $54.45 million USD.
