‘Kantara’ Director Rishab Shetty: IFFI Inspires New Talent After $108M Film Success

Filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty is slated to participate in the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. He expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its importance for the film community.

Shetty stated his happiness to attend IFFI for the second time. He noted the presence of the entire Indian film industry, emphasizing the celebratory atmosphere of cinema.

He further commented that such film festivals serve to inspire new-generation filmmakers. Shetty extended his gratitude to the Goa government for organizing the event.

Rishab Shetty has gained international recognition as both a filmmaker and actor through his films ‘Kantara’ and ‘Kantara Chapter 1’. He is credited with bringing stories of Indian tradition and culture to a global audience.

‘Kantara Chapter 1’ showcased a blend of faith, folk narratives, and high-octane action sequences. Shetty served as both the lead actor and director for the film.

According to reports, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ achieved a worldwide box office collection of $108 million USD (900 crore Indian Rupees). It was noted as the highest-grossing film of 2025.
