The controversial British writer of Indian origin Salman Rushdie was brutally attacked in New York. He had gone to an event where the attacker attacked him with a knife to the neck after he went on stage. After which he was immediately admitted to a Pennsylvania hospital. where he is being operated on. People are condemning the attack on Salman Rushdie. The reactions of many Bollywood celebrities have come to light. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has condemned this deadly attack and shared the post on social media.
Sharing an article on her Instagram story, Kangana Ranaut wrote: These jihadis have committed another horrible incident. The Satanic Verses is one of the best books of its time… I am speechless… Shocked”
Actress Swara Bhaskar has also condemned this attack. He tweeted: My prayers for Salman Rushdie. Shameful, reprehensible and cowardly attack!

Salman Rushdie first received death threats from Iran in the 1980s for his controversial book ‘The Sanetic Verses’. The book was banned in Iran in 1988. The late Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a religious order to kill Rushdie.
