New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was seriously injured while playing in his first match of IPL 2023. Following which it was suspected that Williamson would be ruled out of this year’s World Cup. But now this player is slowly getting into shape. Williamson recently gave his fans some good news by sharing a video.

Sharing a brief clip of him hitting in the nets on his Instagram account Tuesday, Williamson wrote that it was good to be hitting in the nets again. Williamson suffered a leg injury while playing for Gujarat Titans in the opening match of IPL 2023 against Chennai Super Kings on March 31 in Ahmedabad. In his season opener, Williamson fell while catching a ball at the boundary line. After that he came out of the ground. Due to injury, he had to be ruled out of all IPL 2023 matches.

Williamson returned to his country walking with the help of crutches and had to undergo surgery. The chances of him playing in the ODI World Cup were slim. But now he looks like he can get back on the field. Williamson was the leading run scorer for his team at the 2019 World Cup with 578 runs at an average of 82.57, including two centuries and as many fifty. He was also voted Player of the Tournament.

New Zealand will once again face England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5 to kick off their World Cup campaign. The final of the tournament will also be played in the same stadium on November 19.
