Kamal Haasan’s Social Work Benefits Cancer and AIDS Patients

Kamal Haasan’s latest film, “Thug Life,” is set to hit theaters on June 5. But before that, the Tamil superstar has been making headlines for his philanthropic efforts. Let’s take a look at some of the social work he’s been involved in.

Kamal Haasan’s fan club, “Kamal Narpani Iyakkam,” has been transformed into a welfare organization. Through this platform, he organizes blood and eye donation camps, and donates educational materials to students. His fan club has also been actively involved in charitable work, helping those in need.

In 2004, Kamal Haasan received the “Abraham Kovoor National Award” for his contributions to social work. He was also the project ambassador for the “Heart to Heart” project in 2010, which raised funds for an orphanage for HIV/AIDS-affected children.

Kamal Haasan has also been working to help children affected by cancer. In 2010, he launched a cancer relief fund for children and presented roses to kids suffering from cancer at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai. He has dedicated his product endorsement earnings to social causes.

In 2013, Kamal Haasan and his partner Gautami won 50 lakhs in a game show called “Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi.” They donated the prize money to a non-profit organization called “Petral Than Pillaya,” which supports cancer patients.

Kamal Haasan was also nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” campaign. On November 7, 2014, he joined environmentalist Arun Krishnamurthy to clean up the Madambakkam lake in Chennai.
