Kamal Haasan Refuses Apology Demand by KFCC Over Kannada Comment

Kamal Haasan is in hot water over his comments on the Kannada language. The controversy has put his film “Thug Life” in jeopardy, with its release stalled in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) is demanding an apology from Haasan. In a statement, the KFCC said they held an emergency executive committee meeting to discuss the issue. They want Haasan to apologize without conditions.

KFCC mentioned that the Karnataka High Court has also discussed this matter seriously. Therefore, they have decided to ask Haasan to take back his statement and apologize.

Haasan’s film “Thug Life” was supposed to release on June 5, but it’s now stalled. The Karnataka High Court has put a hold on the film’s release until June 10, citing potential unrest in the state due to Haasan’s comments.

The KFCC meeting discussed Haasan’s letter, which mentioned brotherhood, love, and trust. However, they insisted that Kannada supporters, the government, and the state want an unconditional apology from Haasan.

KFCC has requested Haasan to withdraw his statement and apologize without conditions. The film’s release in Karnataka remains uncertain until the issue is resolved.
