Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Silambarasan TR, also known as Simbu, are promoting their upcoming film ‘Thug Life.’ At a recent event, the actors were asked about their views on marriage.
Trisha said she doesn’t believe in marriage. “If it happens, fine. If not, that’s okay too,” she said.
Kamal Haasan shared a story from 10-15 years ago. He was talking to MP John Brittas, a close friend, in front of some college students. Brittas asked Kamal how he, from a good Brahmin family, had married twice.
Kamal replied that being from a good family has nothing to do with marriage. Brittas joked that Kamal follows Lord Rama’s path because he worships him. Kamal clarified that he doesn’t worship any god, nor does he follow Rama’s path. He said he might be following his father, Dasharath’s, path instead.
Kamal Haasan’s Marriages
Kamal’s first marriage was to dancer Vani Ganapati in 1978. They worked together in the 1975 film ‘Melanattu Marumagal.’ They divorced a decade later.
Kamal then dated Sarika, and they had their first daughter, Shruti Haasan, in 1986. They married in 1988 and had their second daughter, Akshara Haasan, in 1991. However, they divorced in 2004 after Kamal filed for divorce in 2002.
From 2005 to 2016, Kamal was in a relationship with actress Gautami.
