Kamal Haasan and AR Rahman met at the Cannes Film Festival and shared this photo

Many familiar faces have come from India to the 75th Cannes Film Festival. This also includes veterans like AR Rahman and Kamal Haasan. Both were part of the Indian delegation led by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur. He was accompanied by R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and others.

After walking the red carpet, AR Rahman shared a happy selfie with Kamal Haasan with an interesting caption. AR Rahman posted a photo on his Instagram account in which he and Kamal can be seen standing side by side. She captioned the photo, “Thalaivar and Anandar”, referring to Kamal Haasan as Anandavar (Lord) and himself as Chief, as she highlighted the initials of his name in ThalaivarRR.

AR Rahman composed music for Madhavan’s Rang De Basanti and several other films and Kamal’s Indian. While AR Rahman wore a black bandhgala suit with sunglasses for his red carpet outing, Kamal wore a black and gold suit. R Madhavan and Nawazuddin wore black suits while Anurag Thakur wore white achkans.

R Madhavan also shared a video of the opening ceremony, showing how he was sitting next to AR Rahman and Anurag Thakur at the event. Excited to be at the Cannes Film Festival, Rahman told ANI, “It’s a great honor to be here. I also have my first directorial venture premiering at Cannes XR. We’re all excited.” His directorial debut, Le Musk, will have its world premiere at Cannes XR, Marche du Films. It is a 36-minute virtual reality film starring Nora Arnejder and Guy Burnett in the lead roles.

On the opening day, several Indian celebrities walked the Cannes red carpet as part of the Indian delegation led by Anurag Thakur. Actors R Madhavan Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tamannaah Bhatia, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, two-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Cage, writer and head of CBFC Prasoon Joshi, folk singer Mame Khan and CBFC member Vani Tripathi were among those walked the red carpet at Cannes 2022.
