In one memorable scene, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol’s characters visit a fair, which eventually leads to the song ‘Suraj Hua Maddham’. This song was filmed in Egypt, a location that added to the film’s grandeur.

Director Nikhil Advani, who worked as an assistant on the film, shared his experiences of working on ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. He spoke highly of Yash Johar, Karan Johar’s father and the film’s producer, describing him as a passionate filmmaker who spared no expense in bringing his vision to life.

A Priceless Investment

Nikhil revealed that Yash Johar’s dedication to the film, stating that he invested a substantial amount of money in the song ‘Suraj Hua Maddham’. The team of 52 people traveled to Egypt to film this one song, a testament to Yash Johar’s commitment to his son’s project.

A Plane Ride to Remember

Nikhil further shared that the team used a Boeing 737 plane to travel across Egypt, filming different parts of the song. This plane was essentially used as a bus, waiting for the team on a concrete road and ferrying them to different locations.

A Glimpse into Yash Johar’s Personality

Karan Johar has also shared stories about his father’s personality and dedication to his work. In an episode of his talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’, he recounted a story about his father meeting Sanjay Dutt outside Mehboob Studio while Karan was filming his first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
