Kairat defeats Jimbee Cartagena to reach Champions League final for fourth time.

Kairat Almaty is set to face either Sporting or Palma in the UEFA Futsal Champions League final after beating Jimbee Cartagena 3-2. The Kazakh side has now reached its fourth-ever decisive match in the competition’s history.

The match was intense, with Kairat taking the lead in the 16th minute through Alisson. However, Darío Gil quickly equalized for Jimbee Cartagena just 17 seconds before halftime with a swift counterattack.

Second-Half Surge

Kairat held firm against Jimbee Cartagena’s growing pressure in the second half. Alisson scored again in the 37th minute with a well-placed cross shot, putting Kairat ahead once more. The Spanish team responded by going for a five-player attack, but Kairat’s goalkeeper, Dennis Cavalcanti, made a crucial save and then scored into the empty net in the 39th minute, sealing a 3-2 win.

Jimbee Cartagena fought hard, earning a penalty after Orazov handled the ball, which Gabriel Motta converted. They had a goal disallowed, but it was too little, too late. Kairat will now wait to see who they’ll face in the final.

The decisive match is set for Sunday, May 4, at 19:00 Portugal Continental time.
