Kabul: The death toll in a suicide attack on an educational institution has risen to 35

The death toll rose to 35 in a suicide attack on an educational center in Kabul on Friday.

The attack was carried out in the Dasht al-Barshi area of ​​Kabul, home to the majority Shia Hazara community, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said. Students were preparing for exams when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the educational center. .

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has said it has information that at least 35 people have been killed and 82 injured, mostly girls, compared to the previous day’s death toll of 19.

Addressing a gathering in Kabul on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi vowed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice and said there was no greater crime than targeting students bathing in an educational center. , these students were studying with great expectations.

While Kabul residents have called for an investigation into the attack, no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack on the educational center.

According to eyewitnesses, around 600 people were present at the educational center at the time of the attack, where students above the age of 18 were being prepared for university entrance exams.

Meanwhile, women protested in Kabul against Friday’s bombing of an educational center, with protesters calling on the United Nations not to remain silent on the issue.
