Washington: The Pentagon has called the August 29 US drone strike in the Afghan capital a mistake.
According to foreign media, the head of the US Central Command, General Frank Mackenzie, has apologized for the US drone strike in Kabul as a mistake.
It should be noted that a citizen named Izmare Ahmadi along with his family was killed in a US drone strike in Kabul on August 29.
“We believe that the vehicle that was targeted by the drone did not contain ISIS terrorists and did not pose a threat to US troops stationed at the airport,” Frank said.
According to media reports, Ahmadi, who was killed in the attack, was not an ISIS activist but a relief worker working for a California-based organization called Nutrition and Education International.
Ahmadi had applied for relocation to the United States after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
