KABUL: The US military has allegedly targeted a “planner” in a drone strike against ISIS following the Kabul airport bombings.
The U.S. military says a drone strike was carried out in eastern Afghanistan to target ISIS “planners,” according to Reuters. Looks like we killed the target.
According to the US official, the drone strike was carried out on an ISIS fighter who was planning the attacks, however, it was not known whether he was also involved in the attacks on Kabul airport.

The operation against the ISIS terrorist was carried out by a drone flown from the Middle East. He was in a car with a friend at the time of the attack, and the car was successfully targeted.
US President Joe Biden had said on Thursday that those responsible for the Kabul bombings would be found and brought to justice. He had ordered the Pentagon to eliminate the masterminds of the attack.
It may be recalled that ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Kabul airport suicide bombing. ISIS also released the identity of the suicide bomber. According to the statement of ISIS Khorasan, the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber named Abdul Rehman Al-Wagri. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. military base, killing at least 170 people.
