Juventus’s Conceição: “Disadvantaged” Despite More Chances in Champions League

Juventus players are voicing determination and confidence in their ability to rebound from a winless start to their Champions League campaign, despite a recent draw marked by frustration over missed scoring chances.

Midfielder Francisco Conceição stated the team felt “harmed” after their 1-1 draw against Sporting, arguing they had superior opportunities and shots on goal.

“We had more opportunities, more shots, but we couldn’t score the second goal,” Conceição told Sport TV. “We have to keep working to add victories to get up there, which is where we want to be.”

The draw means Juventus remains without a victory in the current Champions League edition.

Conceição also touched on the initial period under new coach Spalletti, describing it as a phase of “lots of information.”

He added that Spalletti is “helping us improve what we need to improve. Little by little we will achieve the results we so much want.”

Despite the challenging start, Conceição maintained an optimistic outlook for the team’s European ambitions. “Nothing is lost, far from it. We have many games to play and many games to win,” he said.

He also acknowledged that playing against a Portuguese team like Sporting was “special” for him.
